This was probably my first time really experiencing all of what New York City has to offer me shopping wise...I shopped everywhere from Century 21, to Topshop, to the street vendors in the Village all the while loving every minute of it...What do you all think??

I wore this to dinner with my family last night at Crisfield's Seafood, yummy! I'm a big fan of Seafood and little hole's in the wall, big chain restuarants just don't compare.

It's amazing the amount of clothing you collect over the years and forget all about. After cleaning out my closet I felt like I'd been on a shopping spree! I've had these jeans for years and this is probably my third time wearing them, but I will be wearing them more often for sure. They fit so well, and with skinny jeans being so popular, it's nice to change it up every so often. The top I got on sale at Zara last year and is still one of my favorite summer tops to date.

Because I hate being uncomfortable when I shop I went extra casual this weekend. I ventured downtown and can I just say that the new F21 on F Street (go figure) is fabulous! I've never shopped in such a party-like atmosphere.

I hope everyone's weekend was as relaxing as mine-caught up on some sleep and with some friends. Expectantly, the weekend is a good indication of how well the week will go :).

I don't know if any of you have noticed, but when dressing in temperatures such as these, I am just as lazy as a Summer day. As far as I'm concerned, it's too hot to put much thought into anything but keeping cool. Jeans and a loose top are my seasonal go to when all else fails.

I'm off to bed early tonight in preparation for a big day if sightseeing in our Nation's Capital tomorrow morning. Have a great weekend!

Reporting for Duty

It's been fairly cooler here this week, allowing me to wear the army inspired top I got from Zara a few days ago (on sale!). The only thing missing is some combat boots (it's not that cool) and I'm ready to report for duty on the 4th. What is everyone doing for Independence Day? I'm taking a day trip to the beach tomorrow and having a little shindig at my house after, and of course seeing the fireworks on the mall on Sunday. Have a safe and relaxing Holiday!

Ahhh sweet, sweet success. Don't you love the feeling of finding the perfect something you've been envisioning in your head for months and months, just stumble upon it so unexpectedly that you gasp and run to it as if your life depends on it? Yes, that was my experience in UO today. I had been yearning for some high waisted denim Levi's for who knows how long, and there they were, just my luck :-).

I'm not a big fan of mirror pics but I was in a bit of a rush seeing as my bff got off work half an hour early. Our good friend works at a lounge in Georgetown that's fairly slow on Thursdays-good for chit chat and great drinks. I'm FINALLY seeing SATC 2 this weekend, I hear it's amazing, can't wait!

I took my brothers to see Shrek 4 in 3D yesterday and LOVED IT! I don't get to spend much time with them because we're all so different in age, but the seldom times we do spend together we always have a good time :).

I met some old friends for lunch at Copper Canyon on Saturday. I was wearing sandals and no trench at the time, but had to change later in the day due to the rain. I hate wearing jackets and boots in the spring/summer :-(.

Carla Hall on the Today Show

I've spent time in New York as a typical tourist, a shopaholic, and a crazed party girl but it wasn't until I ventured there with my Aunt, Carla Hall (Chef & Finalist from Top Chef NYC), to experience what food really had to offer me in the city. I accompanied her to film a segment for the Today Show where she demo'd recipes on using common pantry items to create some tasty treats. In case you missed the segment with Kathie Lee & Hoda Friday morning, it is posted above. I'll do another post on our shopping excursions when I get back from lunch with some old friends. I always miss my room when I'm away at school. Don't get me wrong, I love my apartment and my roommates, but there is something about home that has a certain comfort that my apartment just doesn't provide. It feels good to be with my family for the Easter weekend and I'm hoping I can get some shopping out of my parents while I'm here too. Yes, I know ulterior motives for personal gain aren't too honorable, but why not do it for the name of fashion?

Another day, another class right? I had some extra time while getting ready this morning and attempted the whole socks with heels look. . . I must say I'm a big fan. If my plans weren't to trot allover campus today I would have gladly worn them out, but the bad weather nor the walk to class would allow, so boots it is!

I forget how crazy and unpredictable the weather can be during the Spring season. Of course the temperature is back down to the 50's just in time for the weekend :-/, but I refuse to let it get to me, the change in season is more than enough for me to start shedding clothing.

I FINALLY finished shopping for Miami, and how ironic, the sun hat topped off my last buy. I was extremely excited to finally find a cute and inexpensive pair of boyfriend jeans at H&M (I wanted to buy the entire store by the way). They are definitely my new favorites. I referenced this carry on in my last post and I bought the belt and ring from Forever today. I leave for my trip on Tuesday morning and I can barely think or talk about anything else!

I spent the day shopping after my classes on Tuesday. My friend needed a few more swim suits for Miami and I bought a pair of sandals from Marshalls for only $10 and a carry on for the plane ride. It was definitely a good day :-).

I bought these jeans from a consignment shop a few years ago and they've been collecting dust in my closet ever since. I turned them into shorts and distressed them to get more wear out of them. I can't wait for it to get warm so I can wear them!
